Which supplements are useful for strength training?

Use six filters before buying: a real constraint, evidence, safety, quality, cost, and a measurable outcome.

Do not start by asking which “stack” to buy. Ask which specific problem remains after the fundamentals are in place. 2. When trying to support your health goes wrong

3. Screen every product through six filters

Before buying anything, name the constraint. “I want to improve” is too vague; “my meals miss my protein target three days per week” is testable. Then ask whether the product truly addresses that constraint and whether the likely effect is meaningful in practice.

Check safety in your circumstances, product quality, cost, and how you will measure the outcome. An average effect may be statistically significant yet too small to justify an expensive product that you tolerate poorly or that disrupts sleep.

Finally, compare the supplement with the simplest alternative. A food-based snack may replace a powder. A more consistent bedtime may help more than a stimulant. A better-designed program may resolve the fatigue you are trying to mask.

Caffeine can improve alertness and some measures of strength, power, or endurance in certain people. Responses vary widely: the same dose may help one person yet cause anxiety, heart palpitations, or digestive problems in another.

7. Vitamins and minerals: only for a credible need

Vitamin D, iron, vitamin B12, calcium, and iodine are not generic performance boosters. They become relevant when a diet excludes important sources, someone belongs to a recognized risk group, or appropriate testing and a professional identify a need.

8. Omega-3 and other aids: start with food

Electrolytes are most useful when heavy sweating, heat, long duration, or several efforts create meaningful losses to replace. For a typical strength workout in a climate-controlled gym, water and normal meals are often enough.
